Ministries for Everyone: Alpha Ministry

2017 Spring Alpha session - Begins Monday, February 27th, 2017
Do you ever wonder about life?  How does God intersect with your life?  Are you tired of hearing all the things the church is against and want to know what it's for?  Do you want to be able to share your questions, concerns and even doubts in a place that won't judge you for them?  Do you want answers and not lectures on how everything you're doing is wrong?  If you answered "yes" to any of those, we would love to have you join us for Alpha!

See, Alpha is a program that originated in the UK, designed to answer these questions about life; questions the Bible provides solid, common-sense answers to.  It's a program that helps people connect with other people who also have questions about God.  It's a program that helps you develop friendships and relationships with other people.  All-in-all, it's a program designed to help you in your relationship with God.  We don't sell anything.  We don't recruit.  We simply help you find answers to some of life's biggest questions.

So, please, join us for our next Alpha class at Shepherd of the Hills Church!  There are several classes offered this session and you can read a little about them below.  If you have any questions or would like to enroll in the program, please contact the church office during business hours.  God bless and see you there!

Alpha 101 - The Meaning of Life

Life produces a lot of questions.  Questions about our own existence, what happens when we die, why evil exists, and all sorts of other unanswered questions roll around in the minds of millions of people every day.  According to a CBS poll, 66% of Americans believe in both Heaven and Hell.  Another Gallup poll shows 90% of Americans believe in God, including 84% of those between the ages of 18 and 29.  However, the same poll shows that only 10% identify with any particular religion.  Other studies show that while people believe in God, their questions about Him and His relevance in their lives go unanswered resulting in a sense of frustration with the church.  That's where Alpha 101 comes in.  It's a way to gather with other people who also have questions.  We discuss what the Bible and Jesus said about some of those big topics you've always wondered about but have never been able to answer.  So join us in Alpha 101 as we explore the Meaning of Life.
